Our Blade Treadmill program enables us through an in depth analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses in the athletes skating stride. Upon completion of each stage we will gradually build the skating stride with proper technique and form to enable each athlete to move into the training phase. The Blade treadmill allow us to work in a controlled environment and provide immediate feedback and instruction throughout the session. This environment cannot be replicated on the ice and is the perfect supplementary tool for learning to skate or improving your technique.
Stage 1 Video Evaluation – In depth analysis of the start and recovery positions, arm swing and push positions that dictate how well our athletes can perform on the ice. Upon completion of this stage, we will identify weaknesses and begin the process of correcting them through repetitive training.
Stage 2 Correction – We focus on the skating deficiencies we identify during the video evaluation and will begin to correct them through focused training. As we build or rebuild the elements of the skating stride our athletes will begin to develop muscle memory from this phase and will be see a clear difference on the ice. Upon completion of this phase we will then move to the training phase that will be focused on conditioning and skills.
Stage 3 Training – We move focus to the training aspect of the treadmill that will increase speed, endurance and maneuverability on the ice. We will focus on quick feet and short bursts of speed on the incline and decline to force the athlete to push harder then they ever have before.
